Sensit Haptics FAQ

Here we answer the most common questions about our Metahaptics technology and the MTC-P.

Metahaptics and the MTC-P

What are Metahaptics?

Metahaptics is a technology that enables virtual and tactile feedback experiences in real-time using haptic devices.

How does Metahaptics differ from other haptic technologies?

Metahaptics employs a complex algorithm-based technology that enables a wide range of tactile feedback experiences to be generated in real-time, while other haptic technologies use simpler vibration patterns.

What are the benefits that Metahaptics has on Simracing?

Metahaptics helps you feel more immersed in the experience and brings the Simulation to the next level. If your main goal is to drive the fastest time possible, then Metahaptics can help you find the exact grip limit of your tire.

Which effects are simulated?

Gear Shift, Engine, ABS, Wheel Slip, Road Feel

What Sims/Racing Games are currently compatible?

Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Evo, and F1 24 are currently supported, with more to come in future updates.

Do Metahaptics work with SimHub?

The product fully supports connectivity against SimHub software with full feature sets. It is an alternative use mode to the native Sensit SimRacing Cockpit® software, which is optimized for full range of high-resolution effects, lowest latency and special effects for each game.

Is the MTC-P Extreme the same as the Nitro Concepts Immersion Metahaptics?

Yes, both are technically identical. The Nitro Concepts version is a branded edition of the MTC-P Extreme. Both were developed by Sensit and offer the same haptic performance and features.

Software

Where can I download the app?

How do I find out which App version I have?

Under “settings” you can see which version you are currently using.

Where are my profiles saved?

The "Save" button, which is located below the active profile tile, allows you to select your own location or folder.

How can I update the app?

The app will notify you when a new update is available. In the "Settings" section of the app, you can choose to install the update manually or enable auto-update.

What is the difference between immersive mode and competitive mode?

Immersive Mode aims to provide a realistic driving feel with all effects turned on so you can really feel what your car is doing on the track. Competitive Mode on the other hand aims to give you minimal effects (Wheel Slip and ABS) so you can focus on improving your lap time at the limit of grip.

How do I create custom Profiles?

Just press the create button on the top left part of the interface. There you have the option to name your profile and choose what Sim it will be used for. After that you have the option to configure the effects.

Hardware

What is built into the cushions to create the effects?

MTC-P trouble shooting

Unwanted effects or audio feedback

Check your Windows audio settings. Search for ‚Change system sounds‘, then go to ‚Output‘ where you will find a list of all connected devices. Ensure that the Sensit Haptic Core is not selected as either the standard audio or communication device. The standard device should be the headphones or speakers that you use for general audio output.

My kit stopped working while racing.

Try unplugging and plugging the power cable and restart the software. It should say “seat connected” in the top right corner.

My haptic feedback is very weak.

Check which profile you are using, then try adjusting the intensity sliders. Also, make sure that all the desired effects are turned on.

The effects are not working in the Sim.

Check to see if you are using a profile with disabled effects, and switch them on for the current simulation.

Seating Position Guide

How should I adjust my seat?

Start by positioning your seat upright, similar to a real GT race car. Your back should be well-supported, and your legs should be slightly bent when pressing the pedals.

The seat angle is very important for lower back support. The backrest should be a bit more than 90 degrees, around 110 degrees.

❗️Sitting too upright or reclined can lead to discomfort or back pain.

Sit down like you normally would. Back against the backrest.
Slouching or leaning back in your seat can lead to poor posture.

Look at your knees. In an optimal position, your knee angle should be between 120 and 135 degrees when you fully depress the brake pedal.
Too straight (over 140) -> You lose power and feel.
Too bent (under 110) -> Your quads will burn out in a lap.

How can I find the right distance to the steering wheel?

The goal is for you to find a comfortable resting position of your arms on the wheel.

For the ideal distance, stretch your arms straight out so your wrists lie across the top of the steering wheel. Adjust your seat to that distance.

When holding the steering wheel at a 9 and 3 o'clock position, the angle between your elbows should be bent around 90-100 degrees.
Your wrists and arms should be in a resting position without excessive strain.

❗️The steering wheel should not be higher than your shoulders.

Angle your steering wheel slightly upwards (around 8-12 degrees).

Make sure your shoulders and lower back are always pressed to the seat. Your shoulders should be in a comfortable resting position.

How should I position my pedals?

You should be able to reach them comfortably with your whole feet (not just your toes) while not having your leg fully stretched.

❗️Make sure your lower back is resting against the backrest.

Have your knees slightly bent even when fully depressing the pedal.
Tip: If you have a seat slider, you can easily move your seat forward or backward to ensure the correct seating position.

❗️Keep in mind that it will always impact the steering wheel position.

Your heel should be able to reach the pedal plate.

Where should I place my screen?

The right distance to the screen is important to have clear visibility and also have a good minimum distance to avoid straining your eyes.

Many people place the screen directly behind their steering wheel to maximise immersion out of the simulator.
